Starting in 2014, all Shell Downstream facilities will be required to transition to NaviTrack™ as the standard tool for managing turnaround preparations in accordance with their corporate turnaround work process. Housed within a licensable suite of turnaround management web-based tools (www.Turnaround-Network.com), NaviTrack™ is a work process deployment and implementation system that brings best practices to the desktop of every project or turnaround professional in the enterprise. The first web-based tool of its kind, Navitrack™ generates a gated work process designed specifically for your project or turnaround based on size and complexity. Shell has been an active corporate subscriber to AP-Networks’ proprietary Turnaround Network for several years. To date, nearly 50 turnaround events across 15 of Shell’s global facilities have chosen to utilize Navitrack™. The decision to mandate the use of Navitrack™ on all turnarounds going forward reflects Shell’s commitment to provide a standardized suite of tools to plan and execute turnarounds across the enterprise. According to David Rennie, Global Turnaround Excellence Manager for Shell Downstream Manufacturing, “Navitrack™ has evolved dramatically since it was introduced to the industry in 2008; and for Shell, the tool has proven itself as an ideal cost-effective solution for our global turnaround management needs. In addition to driving compliance to our own turnaround work process, the real time reporting and knowledge management capabilities of Navitrack™ provide Shell management a complete view of turnaround preparation status across our entire portfolio of turnarounds.”
