September 24, 2021 by Vice President, Technology and Software Engineering Todd Austin is the Vice President of the Technology and Software Engineering (T&SE) division of Asset Performance Networks, based out of the company’s office in Houston, Texas. Todd boasts more than 20 years of experience in the petroleum industry designing, developing, and implementing systems to improve turnaround and capital projects performance. In his current role, Todd oversees the development, maintenance, and upgrade of AP-Networks’ internal software tools, as well as that of customized software solutions designed for clients from the ground up. With both, Todd works to ensure the integrity and consistency of the software, striving to improve functionality while preserving user experience. Todd’s work with AP-Networks’ suite of licensable tools can be seen in NaviTrack, Project Pyramid, Pyxis, Turnaround-Network.com, and Upstream-Network.com. On the customized solutions side, Todd has worked with clients to design work process tools, internal benchmarking tools, record management tools, and project development process tools. Prior to joining AP-Networks, Todd’s systems work encompassed large scale corporate initiatives for BP, including a company wide common process for projects, an extensive training program for building competence in project disciplines, and a standard for benchmarking project performance that included the development of a custom database application for collecting, analyzing, and reporting project data. In addition, Todd garnered capital projects experience conducting assurance reviews in the company’s Alternative Energy division for five years. Todd has extensive experience in all aspects of IT, specifically user interface and project management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Systems Management from Texas A&M University.
