Michael Long is a Senior Consultant with Asset Performance Networks. He is one of the industry’s foremost risk management specialists for oil and gas projects.

Since joining AP-Networks, Michael has provided dedicated risk support for a major energy company. In addition to dealing with risk challenges as they’ve arisen, Michael has also conducted Risk Workshops at the company’s sites across the globe. In this role, he has consulted on projects ranging in scale from small commercial plays to large capital projects for a diverse array of business segments that includes refining, chemicals, and more.

Prior to joining AP-Networks, Michael worked for more than 30 years in the energy industry, first with Amoco and then with BP. He has helped more than one hundred project teams implement risk management systems, working with the teams on risk identification, mitigation strategies, and quantifying impacts. In addition, Michael has developed and conducted risk workshops for a wide spectrum of energy projects focused on exploration & production, drilling, refining & marketing, environmental remediation, alternative energy, chemicals, pipelines, and information technology.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Tulsa.
