Laurie Milligan is a senior consultant with Asset Performance Networks, based out of the company’s office in Houston, Texas. Laurie is a part of the Capital Project Consulting group, where she works with clients to solve their project challenges in the present, and identify lessons learned and opportunities for future improvement. Laurie possesses more than 30 years of project management experience, during which time she has led teams in business and process analysis, organizational change, learning and development, and information systems. She has managed internal company teams in successful project execution, as well as teams of vendors from multiple companies.

As a senior consultant supporting AP-Networks’ Capital Project Consulting group, Laurie partners with clients to analyze their capital project work processes and develop practical solutions for improving business results. She also focuses on helping clients successfully embed process improvements into the organization by defining effective implementation plans.

Prior to joining AP Networks, Laurie spent more than 25 years in the energy industry leading projects for clients that included Amoco, BP, ConocoPhillips, and Shell. Over the course of her career, she has overseen several large-scale corporate initiatives, including the development of a company-wide common process for projects, and the creation of an extensive learning and development program for building competence in project disciplines.

Laurie honed her capital project management skills while conducting peer reviews and facilitating group sessions at various refinery and chemical sites. These sessions were used to strengthen teams, plan projects and turnarounds, select contractors, and develop processes and tools in areas such as capital planning, project management, project controls, safety, risk management, and maintenance and reliability standards.

She also worked with clients to develop change management programs to communicate information and encourage the adoption of new ideas. Examples include interactive executive webcasts, champion networks, communities of interests, and discipline-specific forums for the project management community.

Laurie holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Analysis with a Management Information Systems specialty from Texas A&M University, as well as a master’s degree in Training and Development from the University of Houston. She also holds a PROSCI change management certification.
