Kevin Murphy is a Subject Matter Expert with Asset Performance Networks, reporting to the company’s Houston office. Kevin brings more than 30 years of refining experience to his role, with an emphasis on process implementation and active leadership. Before joining AP-Networks, Kevin worked as a Turnaround Advisor at BP.

Over the course of his career, Kevin has worked to transform reactive organizations to proactive organizations through the use of project controls and process development. To this end, he held single point accountability for the design and initial implementation of the Turnaround Global Manufacturing Template used to guide plant maintenance at BP refineries. Kevin’s emphasis on process adherence also allowed him to successfully manage the largest turnaround to take place at BP’s Coryton refinery. In nearly every role he has held, Kevin has instituted processes that have achieved reductions in cost and scope.

Throughout his time with BP, Kevin held a diverse array of positions, including Maintenance Engineer, TAR Project Engineer, TAR Superintendent, Engineering & Reliability Superintendent, TAR Manager, and the Subject Matter Expert and Lead for Turnarounds as part of an SAP deployment. He worked at several BP facilities, including the Texas City Refinery, the Yorktown Refinery, and the Coryton Refinery in the UK, and held roles with BP Process Fitness in the UK. These positions and the many others Kevin has held have provided him with a comprehensive skillset and a multifaceted view of turnaround planning and execution. With his background and experience, Kevin is a valuable asset to AP-Networks’ clients.

Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He is a graduate of the Manchester University/BP Project Management Program.
