With increasingly large expenditures and capital installation opportunities, industry leaders are continually seeking methods to execute turnarounds that are predictable and competitive. For leading operators, the objectives of “the game” have completely changed from maintenance turnarounds as a must-do liability to turnaround events as a competitive business opportunity. Along this competitiveness journey, the industry has realized that while many variables need to be managed, one ingredient is absolutely essential: setting the right work scope. During the 2017 AFPM Reliability & Maintenance Conference & Exhibition, Craig Small will tackle this subject head-on.

Craig will deliver his presentation, “Turnaround Competitiveness: Scope – The Essential Ingredient,” at 8:30am on Thursday, May 25th as part of the conference’s Turnaround track. He will outline proven practices that enable a strategically defined, optimum work scope and show how it is the foundation on which competitive turnarounds must be constructed. Using industry intelligence and turnaround performance data, Craig will reveal critical strategies and behaviors for selecting and maintaining an optimum work scope, along with proven technologies and tools.
